Since it is unclear when we will be able to safely gather in large groups again, we are transitioning our Fall Luncheon event to a week of giving (September 16 – 23) featuring a virtual kick-off event on the evening of Friday, September 18 and a Week of Giving through September 24, hosted by our emcee from last year’s luncheon, Sasha Summer Cousineau. The event will feature a message from our Executive Director Kathy Fleming, a keynote presentation from Lauren McGowan of United Way King County, a video featuring some of our current client families, and your first chance to help us reach our fundraising goal of $180,000
It’s vital that we reach our goal so that we can continue serving vulnerable homeless families, like the one pictured above. Parents Kari, Mathew, and their 3 children, recently moved into permanent housing after spending nearly 2 years in our transitional housing program. You may recall their story from our 2018 Fall Luncheon video. Kari and Mathew’s journey from living in their car to stability and self-sufficiency is just one example of the success stories that donations like yours make happen. We need your help this Fall to make sure we can continue to help families like this one recover from the trauma of homelessness and give their children the healthy living environment they deserve.
Mark down September 18-24 on your calendars and make sure you’re signed up here to receive a new video each day of our Week of Giving!
