ABOUT ATTAIN HOUSING
Bringing our community together to partner with homeless families by providing affordable housing and empowering them with practical case management and hope.
A safe and supportive community, wherein opportunity exists for all families to achieve stable housing and self‑sufficiency.
Our community faces a huge challenge. Organized by the King County Coalition to End Homelessness, the annual “One Night Count” took place on January 2018. Volunteers counted 12,112 unsheltered people in King County, an increase of 4% over 2017.
Over 30,000 people experience homelessness in King County each year. The number one cause? Lack of affordable housing — A family of four currently needs an average income of over $100,000 to afford housing on the Eastside. Homeless children are our most vulnerable community members and are at higher risk of illness and delayed development.
IT’S NOT FAIR, BUT IT’S REALITY.
Attain Housing (formerly KITH) helps homeless and at-risk families with children in King County to become stable and self-sufficient. First, Attain Housing stabilizes families in 33 Attain Housing apartments and in units owned by others. Then, Attain Housing assists the families with services, including case management, which helps them make lasting life changes, leading to permanent housing.
In 2017, our 33 apartments supported 149 people consisting of 46 families and 87 children. The majority of families we serve in our housing program are headed by single mothers who are escaping domestic violence with their children.
When you help Attain Housing, you help homeless families transform their lives, thereby strengthening our community.
You will be part of the solution to ending homelessness when you “care and share” — caring, giving, volunteering to make a difference in the lives of many less fortunate than we. When it comes to decreasing homelessness, rental assistance and affordable housing are the most effective solutions, and Attain Housing is here to provide both—with your help.
Thank you for your investment in Attain Housing, which enables life changing opportunities for homeless and at-risk families to become stable and self‑sufficient.
